Tampa Bay Buccaneers stand pat at trade deadline despite rumblings

In today’s news, or lack there of, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers stood pat at the trade deadline despite multiple rumblings that they could make a move.
Despite multiple rumors of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers attempting to make a move or two at the trade deadline, which was yesterday at 4 p.m., the team ultimately did not make any moves and stood pat. With a record of 2-5, Tampa Bay will play out the last nine games of the season with the same roster that they went into the season with.
The first and earliest rumor was that the Buccaneers were open to trading former first round pick O.J. Howard if they were able to get a “substantial offer” for him. Ultimately, they must have never have received that offer as Howard will still wear the pewter and red on Sunday as they take on the Seattle Seahawks.
The next rumor was that the Bucs were looking to add another first round pick to their arsenal for the 2020 NFL Draft. It was reported that the Buccaneers were close to landing a deal, but the trade fell through at the last moment.

The third rumor, coming from an unverified internet troll sensation Incarcerated Bob, was that the Bucs were shopping star wide receiver Mike Evans. Nobody believed this, and lo and behold, Evans is still playing football in Tampa.
These rumors seemed to come at an odd time after head coach Bruce Arians stated that he was not giving up on the 2019 season. However without adding any talent to the roster, the Bucs do not have a lineup to win this season.
The pewter and red remain with six draft picks, as they gave up their seventh rounder when trading DeSean Jackson to the Philadelphia Eagles last offseason; the Bucs also remain with the same starting lineup and 53 man roster.
In what was built up to be an exciting trade deadline, the Bucs did not make any moves and stood their ground. There are nine weeks left to see if this turns out to be a good decision or if it will come back to haunt Arians and company.
