Cam Jordan sent another ridiculous message to Buccaneers fans

The amount of free real estate Tampa Bay has in this guy’s head is amazing.

It seems the Tampa Bay Buccaneers continue to live rent-free inside of Cam Jordan’s head, something he voluntarily admits on an annual basis. Jordan hasn’t made it a secret just how much he dislikes the Bucs, even though the way he goes about it tries to imply that he doesn’t think about them much.

His words, and ths consistency with which they are used on matters pertaining to Tampa Bay, suggest otherwise.

Jordan infamously put his foot into his mouth two years ago when he said that the Bucs would go back to their old losing ways in the wake of Tom Brady retiring. That didn’t happen, and instead of New Orleans returning to the top of the NFC South the division still ran through Tampa Bay — a route that still exists almost entirely uninterrupted.

Last year Jordan went out of his way to slam the Bucs by saying that the only rivalry the Saints have is with the Atlanta Falcons. He’s not wrong from a historical perspective but it was hard not to get a little annoyed by the dismissive nature of the comment.

For a third straight year, Jordan is following up a playoff-less season by once again putting the Buccaneers’ name in his mouth and it remains absolutely hilarious stuff.

While at radio row last week, Jordan was asked if he had a message for Buccaneers fans. To the surprise of no one, he gave what is starting to become a canned and tired response about the lack of a rivalry.

For as much as Jordan wants to pretend either A) he doesn’t think about the Bucs or B) there isn’t a rivalry, he continues to be proven wrong on both fronts.

Jordan routinely goes out of his way to talk about not only the team but players who don’t even play in Tampa anymore. Last year he took a wild swipe at Ryan Jensen, whom he referred to by “trash can”, and was forced to eat his words when the Bucs swept New Orleans in the regular season. The latter of those victories ended up being one that clinched Tampa Bay’s fourth straight division title which, to be fair, sort of does confirm his theory that there isn’t a rivalry between the two teams.

A rivalry suggests that the games are competitive, which is true to a certain extent. There’s always dramatics and fireworks when it comes to the Bucs and Saints meeting but the scoreboard tends to put that all to rest.

There’s a level of respect to this bit that Jordan seems terminally committed to. He is such a perfect heel for whatever nonexistent rivalry he claims to not care about, and he’s someone Bucs fans have long loved to hate.

Trash talk is part of what makes the game so enjoyable, ans so is being able to dismiss this as the ravings of a player down so bad that he has to pretend like the consistent losing doesn’t bother him.
